Jotun race to repair damage
Posted On: 14 Aug 2007 - 16:46
Courtesy of Class-1.com The damage to Jotun, sustained after dramatically crashing out of last Sunday's Scandinavian Grand Prix, has left the team facing a race against time to be ready for the Romanian Grand Prix in Mamaia at the beginning of September.

"The damage is not really too serious but there is a lot of work involved to get the boat repaired and ready," said team manager and co-owner, Per Carsten Michelsen. "We have to replace hatches and of course change both engines. But we also have to replace practically everything inside the boat damaged by water. All the hydraulics have to be cleaned and all the wiring and instrumentation have to be replaced. But first we have to dry the boat out and then re-rig. There is a lot of work and time involved - and my guys have already been working 24/7 for the last week, so we will need to bring in help. Probably we will miss the deadline to leave with all the other boats - but we will get to Romania."
