Born in New Zealand and now living in Australia, Peter is a former car racer, and a builder of high performance engines both for drag cars and race boats. He has raced both V-hull and catamarans in Class 2, winning the New Zealand Class 1 and Class 2 Championships twice and the Australasian Class 1 title twice under the New Zealand flag in a boat named "sleepyhead". racing career, he went from being not only crew chief but to pairing with Bill Barry-Cotter as driver in the 4th round of the 2002 World Championship Series being held in Oslo Norway. They walked away from this race with a second place and from here the pair of them never looked back.
Peter spent the 2004 season as throttleman for Chris Parsonage in Negotiator and also competed in the 2004 Australian Class 1 Championship
