Bård has previously competed in Norweigan and Swedish road racing championships.
He made his Class 1 debut in 2004 as team owner and driver of the Hydrolift team. It was a mixed season with two top six finishes but ended spectacularly when the boat ended up beached on the Palm Island Breakwater in Dubai. With the retirement of Bjorn Rune Gjelsten at the end of the 2004 season Bård took over the drivers seat of Spirit Of Norway.
Bård has achieved his goal of winning the Class 1 title after just 2 seasons (winning in 2005). Bård is chairman of Eker Design, Project Design and Hydrolift. After sitting out the 2006 to focus on business commitments he joins the King Of Shaves team for 2007 in a bid to compete with Class 1's top teams
